Projected Image Digital will hold its first 2007 Digital Video Workshop on Tuesday, February 6 at The Questors Theatre, Mattock Lane, Ealing, London W5 5BQ, Tel +44(0) 208 567 0011. The theatre is an eight minute walk from Ealing Broadway Station on the Central and District Lines. It is also served by National Railways.
“We’re looking at what constitutes ‘digital video’ and ‘digital lighting’, its creative and technical advantages and how it’s being applied in today’s market sectors.” explains digital services manager Nev Bull. He adds that it’s aimed at multi-level users and a wide range of those interested or engaged in these areas.
The one-day event will contain overviews of the genre, specific applications and will enable attendees to get hands-on with some of the most popular digital video products. This will include digital media servers (including Catalyst), automated projectors (including the DL2), video and lighting computer playback (including Pharos) and pixel mapping systems (including PixelMAD), plus high and low resolution LED surfaces including Element Labs ‘Versa’ range.
Digital lighting and video expert Hugh Davies-Webb will be presenting a seminar on the ‘History of Digital Media Servers’ including specifically the Catalyst version 4 and PixelMAD.
Another guest presenter will be Frank Schotman from High End Systems’ European operations. He will be talking specifically about the HES DL2 moving projector, and the relevance of automated projectors with onboard media severs.
The event will feature several hands-on interactive break-out areas, where people can get close up to Catalysts, DL2s, a variety of Macintosh computers and the versatile Pharos architectural lighting controller, which will illustrate how the technology is being applied to that particular sector.
This unique event is completely free. There are limited places, so anyone interested in attending should contact Projected Image Digital as soon as possible by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 020 8840 5885.
