Mac Support Now Available For ETC’s Congo and SmartFade

ETC has announced Mac OS X versions of the Congo™ Offline Editor and Virtual SmartFade® software applications for PowerPC (Motorola processor) Macintosh computers.

“There are a lot of Mac users here at ETC--myself included--who are very happy to see these new Mac versions of our software,” says ETC’s controls product manager Sarah Clausen. “We are releasing the two applications initially as beta versions and are actively seeking commentary from Mac users in our industry.”

ETC Congo™ Console

Congo Offline Editor allows users to view, edit, and create show data on their PC or Mac. Using alpha-keyboard shortcuts or any USB programmable keyboard (X-Keys panel from PI Engineering, for example), Congo Offline Editor simulates console operation.

“Users who would like to become more familiar with the operation of the SmartFade console or would like to edit SmartFade show files on a PC now have Virtual SmartFade. They simply download the Virtual SmartFade software for PC or for Macintosh and they have very own console simulator and offline editor at their fingertips,” says Clausen. “Virtual SmartFade offers an interface almost identical to the actual console, with faders and virtual buttons that light up in the same colors as the console keys do.”

ETC SmartFade®

ETC also announced that Obsession® Off-Line editing software is now available for Windows. Traditionally a DOS application (it would not run on PCs operating an OS newer than Windows 98), Obsession Off-Line for Windows XP offers an interface similar to ETC’s Expression® Off-Line software, with virtual keypads and faders and movable windows containing console displays.
