Tools of the Trade: Artistic Licence Cata-Lynx I/P™ and Cata-Lynx O/P™

Artistic Licence Cata-Lynx

Artistic Licence introduces two redeveloped versions of its Cata-Lynx DMX512-to-Art-Net converter to include some of new features in Data-Lynx:  Cata-Lynx I/P™ and Cata-Lynx O/P™.  Cata-Lynx I/P™ is a DMX512-to-Art-Net Ethernet converter with two universes and aimed specifically at the lighting/video convergence market for use with media servers. It can also be used with Art-Net-compliant visualization software. Cata-Lynx O/P™ has been designed to convert Art-Net to two universes of DMX512 with RDM functionality. Each universe output has a built-in splitter allowing two DMX connections. Both units are 1U rackmountable and designed with data cable entries at the front, including DMX512 connections via 5-pin XLRs and a latching network connection via EtherCon connectors. The front panel also displays LED indicators for Ethernet and Art-Net/DMX status and three hexadecimal switches to determine Sub-Net, Universe A, and Universe B selection. Configuration is by selection of the required universe/sub-net using the front panel wheels. The product can also be remotely configured using DMX-Workshop software via the network or the internal web-server. Universal mains input is via an IEC connector located on the rear of each unit.
