TOMCAT USA was an Executive Producer of the 2011 Region 6 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) that took place recently in Amarillo, Texas. Hundreds of students came from Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Missouri and New Mexico to participate in the festival. Design, Technology and Stage Management students had an opportunity to showcase their work and receive outside assessment by KCACTF respondents.
“TOMCAT is honored to support the Kennedy Center American College Theatre festival as this organization fosters the educational and creative process of university and college theatre,” stated Stefano Rossellini, General Manager of TOMCAT. “Our company has been supplying the Entertainment production market for 23 years serving customers all over the world and we understand the value of fostering and encouraging the talent, creativity and excellence of the next generation of professionals.”
Since its inception, KCACTF has given more than 400,000 college theater students the opportunity to have their work critiqued, improve their dramatic skills and receive national recognition for excellence. More than 16 million theatergoers have attended approximately 10,000 festival productions nationwide.
“The festival was amazing, the work displayed was quite fantastic and the students were very talented and responsive. We appreciate the support that TOMCAT has provided to make this festival a reality and a rewarding experience for our students,” stated Professor Jon Young, KCACTF Design/Technologies Co-Vice Chair Region 6 and workshop presenter.
TOMCAT participation in the festival is yet another example of the company's commitment to promote innovation, solutions and education in our exciting industry and particularly in the university students of theater design, technology and staging.
