From Miami to Vancouver: Al Gurdon To Light Handover Ceremony

London-based LD Al Gurdon, who recently lit the XLIV Super Bowl Halftime Show, is winging his way to Vancouver: “I am doing the handover to Russia in the Closing Ceremony,” he says. “Working for the Russians, but tying in with Bob Dickinson and his crew over there. I'm taking a programmer, Michael Owen, and my gaffer Rich Gorrod, who both did the Super Bowl with me. My tie-in with the Russians is through the Eurovision Contest from last year in Moscow.” The XXII Olympic Winter Games will be held from February 7-23, 2014 in the host city of Sochi, Russia.
