Robson needed a console to replace her old analog model, and immediately looked to Soundcraft after remembering her positive experience with the Vi6. “The Si Compact 16 is perfect for small venues where it's a tight space, and there's not much room to work with,” she said. “It's also easy to transport, which is actually really important in places with stairs and confined areas.”
“I like the feeling of the large digital consoles such as the Vi6, but the Si Compact made the adjustment so easy,” Robson added. “It is a huge advantage for small events to have a smaller desk and setup, and to have one that sounds this fabulous is amazing.”
Robson noted how the Si Compact 16 still has all the functions of a larger board without the footprint. “The flexibility and number of functions on such a compact board is unbelievable,” she said. “I am able to have gates and/or comps on every channel, adjust the EQ on every channel, and the many inputs and outputs make it easy to run subwoofers and a variety of other outputs when needed.”
The ease of use and operation were big selling points in purchasing the new board for Robson. “I took it to a show without even using it before. Since it had the Soundcraft feeling, I was able to play around with it for a bit and have it going quickly. The layout is extremely easy and anybody who has used any other console can pick it up within minutes. The Soundcraft digital desks are the best-sounding digital consoles I've used, and I cannot think of a better product to fit the needs of my system and clients.”
